About Us

Welcome to Maury Place at Monument, a Virginia bed and breakfast. Your innkeepers, Mac Pence and Jeff Wells, have lived on Monument Avenue in Richmond’s Museum District for over ten years. Mac is a lifetime resident of Richmond and is the president of the Pence Auto Mall . Jeff has lived in Richmond for twenty-five years and was an attorney before becoming a full-time innkeeper.

Jeff and Mac opened Maury Place in October 2008. They spent the two years prior to opening Maury Place laying the groundwork for a great bed & breakfast-- renovating the property, attending seminars and conferences, and consulting the B&B experts. We hope you love the results. Our historic Virginia inn, is the perfect place for you to spend your Richmond vacation, celebrate a special occasion, or enjoy a weekend getaway. We look forward to welcoming you to our home at Maury Place!

We also enjoy showing people Richmond, the city we love. Full of history, culture, arts, great restaurants, and great shopping, Richmond is a wonderful place to live, and we know you will enjoy visiting. You can learn more about us and Maury Place by visiting the Maury Place blog, and by signing up for our newsletter.
