Brown Sugar Glazed Baked French Toast Breakfast Recipe

A Sweet and sumptuous baked French toast recipe prepared the night before and baked in the morning. Delicious with chicken-apple sausages!


  • 1 lb loaf French bread
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1½ cups half & half
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¾ cup butter
  • 1⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp light corn syrup

Butter a 9x13-inch baking dish. Cut the loaf of French bread diagonally into 1-inch slices. Arrange the slices in the bottom of the dish. In a large bowl, beat together eggs, milk, half & half, vanilla, and cinnamon. Pour over bread slices, cover, and refrigerate overnight.

In the morning, preheat oven to 350° B In a small saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup for the glaze; heat until bubbling. Pour over bread and egg mixture. Bake, uncovered, for 40 minutes.

Yield: 12 servings
