This year marks the beginning of the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War (2011-2015).
Travelers will find our historic bed and breakfast to be centrally located to many
Richmond attractions, historic sites, and battlefields. Guests can step out our front door onto Monument Avenue, which features statues of Robert E. Lee, Jeb Stuart, Stonewall Jackson, and Jefferson Davis. We are walking distance to the Virginia Historical Society and the Confederate Chapel, and convenient to the American Civil War Center, the Confederate White House, and all Richmond site and battlefields.
A good starting place for Richmond visitors is the American Civil War Center, which offers a comprehensive look at the Civil War from three perspectives- Union, Confederate, and African-American. The American Civil War Center is located at the historic Tredegar Iron Works, which was the largest supplier of armaments to the South in the war. Located just 3 miles from Maury Place at Monument, the Center overlooks the James River, and is at the start of Richmond's Canal Walk.
